What does Belay mean?

be·lay: to protect, to provide safety

Belay is a term commonly used in rock climbing. To “belay” someone is to provide that fellow climber safety with a rope. If climbers should lose their hold and slip, a belayer uses special climbing rope to keep them securely in place until they find the right foothold and are able to continue ascending the rock face. At Belay Advisory, we will help ensure your security and certainty as you climb, ascend, take risks, and reach for your goals.
