"We're In" - A Story of Four Guys, Their Vision, and Our Expertise

A few years ago, I took a call from four guys with a great idea for a company.

One of them heard that Belay Advisory helped a small business become a big business.  They wanted to know if we could help them accomplish the same.

When we first met, they were four guys, one vision, specific expertise, and clear values.  We met in their "office" - at that time it was a coffee shop in South Edmonton.  They showed up with big ideas and even bigger energy.  Their goal - make a profit and make a difference in their field.

Inspired by their focus, our benefits consulting team said, "We're in."

"We're in," for a team of Belayers (e.g. mountaineers who are responsible for their fellow climbers' security) means that we're all in.  It means that your vision is our vision, and we're fully committed to doing everything we can to help you realize it.

Our relationship with the four guys developed quickly, and so did the level of trust.  We'd meet with them, listening and asking questions.  We'd return to our office to think, strategize, and explore opportunities.  We'd reconnect with them to deliver benefits-related advice and recommendations.  Then it was their turn to listen, make decisions, and take action.

It was a recipe for success.  Within a few short years, their business became a thriving, international venture.  They gained clients, projects, and operations across Western Canada, in the US and throughout the Middle East.   It became clear that our advice was tangible and so were their results.

As the guys' business has grown, their opportunities and needs have evolved substantially.  Our services have as well, and it's clear that we're maturing together.   We're right in-step with them - able to meet their ever-changing business needs.

After a rewarding journey over many years, Belay Advisory is still the company's trusted, strategic business partner.  While we're focused on their future, we still enjoy reflecting on how far we've come.  The path has been inspiring, meaningful, and affirming.   It's helped us recognize that we can apply our expertise and experience to make a difference for others.  For us, that's purpose at work.
